Richard’s passion for helping people and organizations create meaningful work and live with intention and authenticity has developed over his 35 year career. As a psychotherapist, he observed how clients presenting with depression, anxiety, addiction, or conflict in relationships were often struggling to find and create meaning and purpose in life. In working with businesses, he saw how organizational structures greatly influence individuals, and how that influence, positive or negative, ultimately affected the sustainability of a system as well as the bottom line.
In working with individuals and corporate clients, Richard integrates a cross-disciplinary approach. The spectrum of focus ranges from the practical to the visionary. From business planning and strategic decision analysis, to personal and organizational visioning, Richard holds a big picture with an eye toward the immediate and measurable. His coaching and consulting style is personable, provocative and practical.
Richard has worked with thousands of individuals, and numerous organizational and corporate clients. In addition, he has counseled several hundred couples and provided marital, family and group counseling and consultation to a wide variety of people. He has started and developed programs fostering support for terminally ill patients and their families. In addition, he has done extensive program development and evaluation in the treatment of domestic violence, substance abuse, chronic mental impairment, and abuse-reactive, conduct-disordered adolescents.
In the private business sector, Richard has consulted with work-teams striving to resolve conflict and improve cohesion and effectiveness. He has a strong interest, and applies his skills to explore, define and implement therapeutic and healing principles in work and residential communities. His coaching and consulting clients have included non-profit organizations, educational facilities, medical and mental health systems, insurance companies, manufacturers, start-ups and solopreneurs. He brilliantly integrates psychological, organizational and spiritual theories and practices to orchestrate whole-life working and living.
